Drive by car shoot
So I had a 90 minute rain delay on the football game I was shooting tonight so I decided to just head home and edit pics while I waited. Well as I am on my way home I just happen to notice a beautiful g35 up on a hill all posed and clean. Its owner Stephen was taking pics of some new Rohana rims that he just wrapped and mounted.

Now we here at Newtography love cars and so any time an opportunity like this just happens to pass by you better believe its not going to get passed up... literally. So I bust a u turn and head over and introduce myself and hear Stephens story about his gorgeous g35. I spent about 10-15 minutes just playing around shooting and chatting before I went on my way.
Unfortunately due to the recent rebranding of Newtography, the only automotive business cards I had on me were old. So I scribbled down the new site and Stephen if you are out there and get to see this thanks again man. We love getting the opportunity to shoot cars that are beautiful and loved. Hope you enjoy the shots and feel free to like our Newtography | Automotive page on facebook at www.facebook.com/newtographyautomotive and go ahead and tag yourself and share if you would like.
If anyone else out there has a vehicle that they love and want to show off feel free to contact me at andrew@newtography.com and be sure to go and like the Newtography | Automotive facebook page where we upload and share new rides all the time.

Brandy, Barkley, and Baylee
Today I got the chance to get my first real pet session under my belt. Let me tell you it was no easy task, but it was tons of fun. All I knew going in was that there were three dogs and one was a rescue. So I had planned for a pretty intense session.
So I pull up and immediately see a gorgeous golden retriever and a smaller black border collie mix. Then I go inside and get to meet the baby of the house Brandy. She was the inside dog and the most loved of the trio.
I start out taking inside pics of Brandy who was the most calm of the group and realized straight away that I would have my work cut out for me. Now I have been experimenting with some new shooting techniques to get away from some bad habits I had. I quickly realized this was no scenario to try and learn new things. So I abandoned my learning mode and went into full on shoot everything as fast as I can mode. These boogers were everywhere, including all over me loving me to death (I think they knew I was there to make them look like celebrities ;)). I could barely keep up and focusing was an additional trick in itself. I initially wanted to try some shots with off camera flash but immediately realized that wasn't going to work so I just strapped my cameras on and went to shooting.
Now here at Newtography we like to make every client get the full rock star experience (even if they are pets :)). So I have asked Karen Bazzell, the owner of these lovely canines, to tell us a little about their back story, and life, and how they became a part of the family.
"Brandy is a 9 year old golden retriever. We got her as a puppy. She was the runt of the litter and was over in the corner by herself. I couldn't pass up that sweet little girl that was all alone. Brandy has favorite resting spots in the house where you will find her relaxing, usually with a toy in her mouth. She wants to be wherever we are and most definitely one of the sweetest dogs we've ever had."
Brandy
"Barkley is 6 year old golden retriever. We adopted him from a GR rescue out of Atlanta. He came from a puppy mill in Missouri of which the owner had agreed to place all of the puppies with the rescue and close up shop. That little 10 pound puppy has turned into a 115 pound horse. He is so loving and loyal."
Barkley
"Baylee we believe is a 4/5 year old border collie/australian shepherd mix. After the tornados a couple of years ago she was found in our neighborhood. My daughter saw her and asked if she could bring her some food. Needless to say food turned into a permanent home. She sleeps on my daughters bed every night. We don't know where she came from or her journey prior to finding us but she found her way into our hearts."
Baylee
These were easily three of the most beautiful and sweet dogs I have ever been around and made it very easy for me to build a passion to follow pet photography as an additional brand of the Newtography line. Thank you so much Karen for letting me make some new furry friends today.

How photography and I became friends
It was early 2008 when I came across my first dslr. I got it for my 20th birthday off of QVC.com and my mom agreed to make the first payment but that I was responsible for the other 3 payments. So working part time for my fathers construction company I just figured I would have the money to pay it off no problem, so I clicked order.
The camera came in a few weeks later and immediately I began to snap away. I initially got into photography because I had recently made a friend who was into it and she was the inspiration behind the purchase. I was blown away by the facebook albums she was able to make from just walking around with a camera. I had many years of graphic design under my belt and knew that if i had the equipment I could put the work in and make some stellar images even if I wasn't a very good photographer.
So I learned very fast that I wasn't going to get anything good just setting this thing to auto and shooting away. Thats when I hit the books, and by books I mean Youtube. So I spent a few hours soaking up as much as I could about DSLRs and then started experimenting with the manual mode and thats when my world was changed. I set out at night and started trying out these cool tricks I found online and as soon as I got my first light trail from a car I was hooked.

From then on my camera went everywhere with me and my friend Amy and I started going on photo walks and I was officially obsessed. Now me becoming obsessed with a hobby is a pretty regular occurrence in my life. I learn and obsess over each and every new thing I come across. Ask anyone, it's out of control. But something about photography was different. I started out wanting to show off cool images but it grew on me like nothing else had ever done. Pretty soon I was gathering up friends and going all over the place just to take pictures.

So instead of it being "let's go hiking, oh and I'll grab the camera". It was actually "Hey I wanna take some pictures, let's go hiking". So it wasn't long before I had thousands and thousands of images and it was an addiction.
A few months after getting the camera and taking thousands of pics my mom told me about a wall at the hospital where worker displayed theirs and their families photography, and she said I could print up some of my best shots and put them up there for sale and that would cover the rest of the bill for the camera that I still owed. So I loved that idea because it meant I would feel like a real photographer with my work on display so we got some printed up and framed.
Well a month went by and I got nothing from it. I went to the hospital and took my picture with my photos that were on display but I got discouraged because I had been all excited to make money but no one seemed interested. Then it happened. My mother was contacted by a lady at the hospital in charge of the decor in a new section that they had just built. This lady loved my work and said it would be the perfect thing to display in the new wing of the hospital. So thats when I got my first check. Even after payin my mom for the remaining bill on the camera and all the prints and framing I still had enough to buy 3 more cameras! I was stoked and that immediately led to getting published in the book Chattanoogas Heroic Drive. That is what planted the seed that you now see budding before you today in Newtogrpahy.

A beautiful Brown wedding.
I recently got the privilege of shooting the wedding of one of my Brown sisters from oklahoma. It was a beautiful occasion with some of the closest people in my life. Lucy was such a gorgeous bride and it was very special to me to be able to come and shoot candids of her special day.
I was so happy to be able to spend the day with Lucy and the brown family. I had some of the best years of my youth with this family and they are like family to me. I don't often get to see them anymore so it was just a great feeling to be there on such a special day and to reunite with so many special people.
An added bonus of the day of shooting were all the great photogenic children laughing and playing and running everywhere. I love photographing children especially in candid situations because they are so free and fun and don't often freeze up and get uncomfortable in front of the camera like a lot of us do now that we are grown. (haha which is why I stay on the other side of the camera :)
Steven Morgan was the lucky groom. I went to school with Steven in Haskell Oklahoma growing up. So although we weren't very close, it was good to know the man and the family that Lucy was joining, and know that they were great, God loving people from my home town.
I am so happy I got to be a part of this great day. So many great people all together made for a truly beautiful celebration for one of the closest people in my life. I love you Lucy and wish you both an amazing life and Madeline and I plan on coming to see you all before the end of the year :). Thank you for letting me be a part of your big day.
